FIRST CHURCH CELEBRATES 280 YEARS: LOBSTER ROLL LUNCHEON & SPECIAL SERVICE!

Come celebrate 280 years with two events! Members of the First Congregational Church of Kennebunkport and their minister, Rev. Derek White, are pleased to announce they will hold a lobster roll luncheon with strawberry shortcake for desert on Sat., August 14^th from 11:30am-2pm, or until sold out. This event is part of the church’s 280^th anniversary celebrating the proud history of First Congregational as the oldest church in town, having been founded in 1730. The original building was burned to the ground, but rebuilt in 1789. A gallery of pictures, photos, and artifacts depicting the history of the church and Kennebunkport over 280 years will be on exhibit at the church for the public to view.

The second event will take place the following Sunday, August 22^nd at the 9:00am service. There will be a dedication of a new plaque with the names of all the previous ministers of the church. Special music will be included as part of the ceremony.

First Congregational Church located at 141 North St., is three miles north of Dock Square, Kennebunkport, where Arundel Rd. & Log Cabin Rd. converge. The church will be on the right from this direction. The church may also be reached via US Route 1 and then 3.95 miles on Log Cabin Rd. The church will be on the left from this direction.

TWO DATE CHANGES: SUMMERTIME COMMUNITY BEAN SUPPERS

Please note that there are two date changes for the Men’s Group of the First Congregational Church of Kennebunkport’s three baked bean suppers this summer! The suppers will be held on Sat., June 19th, Sat., July 10th, and Sat., Aug. 14th. from 5:00-7:00pm in the church’s Ober Hall at 141 North St. The dinner is open to the public and costs are $7.00 per adult, and $4.00 per child under age 12. The men will be serving two kinds of beans, hotdogs, sweet & sour kielbasa, coleslaw, cornbread, and dessert. Make these church fund raiser bean suppers part of your summer plans now!
